Forthcoming Excursions

During the Summer we organize a programme of evening walks, full- and part-day visits to sites of archaeological, architectural or historical interest all over England and Wales, together with a long weekend excursion to a major location. In most cases we have the benefit of guided tours and insights from local experts.

Saturday 17 May 2008
Northwich
The first stop will be to the Anderton Boat Lift in Northwich. There will be guided tours of the Boat Lift and river trip. The afternoon visit will be to the The Salt Museum in Northwich, with a guided tour of the museum and its exhibitions.

Saturday 12 July 2008
Denbigh, Llanrhaeadr and Nercwys
The first visit will be to Denbigh, calling first at the Edward Pearce Memorial Gardens, before moving on to the town of Denbigh. There will be a walk around the town to view buildings of interest, followed by a trip to the Castle.

The afternoon visit will be to St Dyfnog’s Church in Llanrhaeadr, where the windows are of particular interest.  The final trip will be to the Tower, a Welsh Fortified Border House, at Nercwys in Mold.

Please contact Excursions co-ordinator, Mrs Prue Wendt, for more information about these trips. Tel (01244) 382786.
