Coservation

Protection of the historic environment - archaeological sites and monuments, standing buildings and historic landscapes - is one of our core aims. In the past the Society has secured the future of the amphitheatre and prevented the demolition of the 'Bluebell' Inn in Northgate Street. We are members of Cheshire West and Chester's Conservation Area Advisory Committee and aim to comment on major planning proposals that come to our notice.
Please look at our Facebook page for proposals that we are are currently considering. If you have any views on these (or other planning proposals with an impact on the historic environment) that you would like the Society's Council to take into consideration, you can leave a message on Facebook (but remember that your comments can be seen by others) or email Peter Carrington.
